In 2013, Our past Governor  Fashola initiated a committee to grade Lagos Hotel! and results have been given, though the results is open to debate- how well was it done? Who are the people that did it? etc

But that aside, now what are we doing as hoteliers and stakeholders,which is very important to build and boost customer confidence and trust in the Hospitality, Tourism and other leisure sectors of the economy ? besides proving we really have STAR hotels! This is also important because when our economy gets diversified will our sector be ready for the business tourism market we greatly serve now, and the ones to come in the future? Or will the World see that we only have  'homemade hotels' ! With just 'grades' to offer.We need to check , the summation of what we have to offer- grades,standards, etc if in place.

Just as an analogy -A goat can not produce eggs! You need a chicken.  There’s no gainsaying , over time, the past government have exhibited laxity in policy formulation, added to this the wrong people who are not core professionals are consistently appointed to head very sensitive and strategic sectors.So how can we move forward? If we are to move ahead  along with many ways that exist, we have to include appointing the right people and also implementing our true blue prints, policies and ,also tourism and hospitality banks that will come to the aid of practitioners whenever the need arises will need to be established. Added removal of double tax occurring from every corner - its 'draining' practitioners! When some of these 'baby steps' are taken. Surely there is hope that this economy will be brought to its glorious past without a doubt through these sectors in addition- IT CAN BE DONE!
